Hard Lessons on my first journey in Tech
First I would like to congratulate you on getting an opportunity to start your journey in tech.
For beginners in programming, every day you feel like you are running on an imposter syndrome. You try to fix things… they don't look like they are getting fixed-you feel like you are either doing too much or doing it the wrong way.
You have to keep pushing. Every day there are going to be so many new concepts. Chances are the time you are going to have on the new course is very minimal and even the course work itself is just going to give you around 10%–30% of what you need to know to be a good developer or engineer.
Go hard at it every single day — even if it means postponing your job searches or any other activities and focusing for the next six or seven months just trying to get the process right.
Trust me, there is no talent as far as tech is concerned. If you are able to grasp the concepts at the basics, it will be something that is really going to pay off in the long run.
Here is actionable advice from experienced professionals:
Push, push, push.
Every day when you learn something, try it on your own.
Don’t copy code the entire time — try to grasp what you do.
Build projects on yourself.
Ensure your GitHub profile is really good — ensure you have a really good portfolio of projects you are working on.
Take your time, and do your best.Code, code, code, and work on very interesting projects.
